Active Sports Bike, ski, hike or skate the Root River Trail, a 60 mile paved trail winding through bluffs, river bottoms, forests, and farmland. Canoe, kayak or inner tube the Root River. Try some tennis, basketball or horseshoes in Sylvan Park. Play a round of golf at the beautiful Lanesboro golf course or one of the many courses within a half hour drive of Lanesboro.
Natural Wonders
Visit the state fish hatchery, Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center or Mystery or Niagara caves. Hike on area trails and enjoy the many native wildflowers and birds. Hunt for mushrooms or berries, hunt, or fish the river or many fine area trout streams.
History and Local Culture
Go on a guided tour of the local Amish Communities. Do the self guided historic walking tour of Lanesboro. Visit the Lanesboro Historical Museum, the Fillmore County museum (in neighboring Fountain) or the Meighen General Store – a state historic site in nearby Forestville. Attend a church supper, ice cream social, fish fry or small town festival or parade.

Theater and Entertainment
The Commonweal Theatre Company has been presenting quality live professional theater in downtown Lanesboro for over 15 years and in July 2007 will be moving into a beautiful new and larger facility just down the street from the historic St. Mane theater. If you are in town on a Sunday night May through Labor Day, you can go to a fun live radio variety show, Over the Back Fence. If movies are more your style, check out the Gem theater in nearby Harmony.
